Directed by Stephanie Walsh Show Description Our annual youth musical returns with DISNEY'S ALICE IN WONDERLAND JUNIOR! Join Alice's madcap adventures in Wonderland as she chases the White Rabbit, races the Dodo Bird, gets tied up with the Tweedles, raps with a bubble-blowing Caterpillar, and beats the Queen of Hearts at her own game! This fast-paced stage adaptation of Alice in Wonderland features updated dialogue and new arrangements of such classic Disney songs as "I'm Late," "The Un-birthday Song" and "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah." Please do NOT sing a song from Alice in Wonderland. You must sing with OUR provided accompaniment or with a tape or CD with NO vocals. NO a cappella auditions will be allowed. - You may be asked to complete a dance/movement audition, taught by the show choreographer (dress appropriately) - Be prepared to fill out a conflict sheet* at auditions (be as specific as possible about spring conflicts) *Make sure you read over the rehearsal and performance schedules below before committing to the show* Audition Dates/Times Sunday, March 11, 2012 at 6:00 P.M. Monday, March 12, 2012 at 6:00 P.M. Callbacks (if needed): Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 6:00 P.M. *Additional audition times may be scheduled ONLY if you are unable to attend the scheduled auditions. Please contact the Carlisle Theatre Company Artistic Director, Dustin C. LeBlanc, to schedule an audition in advance if this is the case.* Rehearsals Sundays from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Mondays from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Saturdays from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. Not all performers will be called to every rehearsal, and some Saturday rehearsals will only be until 12:00 P.M. Tech week will be from May 7 through May 10, 2012. No excuses will be accepted during tech week. Performances Friday, May 11, 2012 at 7:00 PM Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 7:00 PM Sunday, May 13, 2012 at 7:00 PM Please make sure you can fully commit to the rehearsal and performance schedules before auditioning. We understand summer is a busy time, but you must be willing to make this show a priority. Not all performers will be asked to attend all rehearsals. Actors Needed Any elementary, middle, or high school aged youth is invited to attend the audition. Experienced or first time performers who enjoy acting, singing, and dancing are invited to audition. Many roles are available to suit the talents of all of our performers. Roles Available (in alphabetical order) Alice – Spunky, adventurous girl on a journey of self-discovery. Charming and able to command the stage. Caterpillar – Part sense, part diva. Played by 5 actors who play the head, body, and all the hands. Cheshire Cat – The very funny narrator of the story. Can be played by 3 separate actors who play the head, body, and the tail. Chorus- Play a variety of different parts. Dodo Bird – Captain of the Queen's Navy. Doorknob – A funny featured character based somewhat on Jimmy Durante. This is a non-singing role. Flowers – The snooty, mean girls who think they are the most important people in the world. There are at least five flowers. King of Hearts – The often forgotten ruler of Wonderland who lives in the shadow of the Queen. Non-singing role. Mad Hatter – Larger-than-life, life of the tea party. March Hare – A happy, fun character that is the slightly less silly counterpart to the Mad Hatter. Mathilda – Alice's older sister. Non-singing role. Queen of Hearts – The mean, bully of the story. Scary and commanding, but a little funny. Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee – A pair of goofballs similar to old comedy teams like Laurel & Hardy White Rabbit – Energetic, worrisome. Hardly ever stops moving.
